HomeHotels arranged by our company in Chitwan

When planning your trek in Nepal, choosing the best season is key to ensuring a rewarding experience. Nepal’s diverse geography offers varying climates, so understanding the optimal trekking seasons can enhance your adventure. The spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) months are particularly favored for their clear skies, stable weather, and breathtaking views of the Himalayas. While summer and winter have their own charm, these seasons present more challenges, including monsoonal rains and colder conditions. This guide offers a month-by-month breakdown to help you select the ideal time for your trek.

We only handle tours that use mid-range or higher hotels. Each hotel offers a package plan that includes accommodation, meals (6 times), various activities, and more, and we also arrange such plans.

Tour program guide

The order and time may vary, but the following is a rough guide. Times may vary slightly depending on the day of the week, the lodge being used, and the number of guests staying that day.

Remarks

  • If your arrival in Chitwan on the first day is delayed due to traffic conditions, you may not be able to experience some of the planned activities. In this case, there will be no refund. If you negotiate directly with the lodge after arriving, you may be able to add the activities you were unable to do on the first day to the second or third day.
  • If the scheduled activity cannot be carried out due to bad weather, there will be no refund. As above, by negotiating directly with the lodge, you may be able to reschedule the activity on another day during the tour when the weather is good.

*The above two points are usually not necessary to worry about, but during the rainy season (especially July and August, when there is a lot of rain), the tour may be interrupted due to disasters such as floods.
  • The Tharu village visit (daytime) may be canceled without notice if the situation is unstable (strikes, road closures, etc.). In this case, no refunds will be given. Similarly, the Tharu stick dance viewing (from sunset to dinner time) may also be canceled without notice if there are few lodge guests or if the situation is unstable. There are also no refunds.

*Until around 2008, when the situation was unstable, this was often canceled, but since then it has usually been held, so don’t worry!

For those who value affordability

As mentioned above, we only arrange mid-range hotels or above, so it is not suitable for those who value low prices.

Souraha is a tourist town that is like a smaller version of Thamel, so if you get to Souraha on your own, you can find accommodation with no meals included for less than US$10 a night.

Also, when it comes to activities, if you sign up for only the things you like, you may be able to save money, even though it will require some effort to arrange them yourself.

However, activity fees are set at a flat rate according to regulations set by the Chitwan National Park Office and the Elephant Association and Canoe Association in Sauraha, so staying at a cheap hotel does not mean you can save on activity fees.
